📢🇺🇸📢 Help Us Shape the Future of Dieterich’s 4th of July Celebration! 📢🇺🇸📢
For generations, the Dieterich 4th of July Celebration has been one of our community's most beloved traditions. From the July 3rd kickoff to the July 4th fireworks finale, the celebration brings our community together and attracts thousands of people from Dieterich and surrounding communities.
But like many community events, the cost of hosting the celebration continues to rise.
Despite tremendous support from local businesses, organizations and sponsors, the 2026 celebration ended with a deficit of more than $11,000.
At the same time, daytime attendance and spending at Liberty Park have declined in recent years. Many families attend the parade and fireworks but spend less time at the park during the day, often choosing to have family gatherings at home instead.
The reality is that we cannot continue losing thousands of dollars each year and expect this celebration to continue indefinitely.
The parade and fireworks are two of the most beloved parts of the celebration, but neither generates revenue to help pay for the event. Our primary source of revenue during the celebration itself is the b**r garden. Often there are great ideas offered on how to raise more money during the event, but volunteers are not plentiful enough to make these other ideas and events possible.
With July 4th falling on a Sunday in 2027, we are looking at ways to change the format and schedule while preserving the traditions our community loves.
Before making any decisions, we want to hear from you.
Please take a few minutes to complete this survey and share your thoughts. Your feedback will help us better understand what matters most to our community and what changes, if any, you would support for the future of the Dieterich 4th of July Celebration.
Thank you for helping us keep this special tradition going for generations to come!
The survey will be open until September 30th!
