Congratulations to the DSU FBLA Collegiate students who participated in the North Dakota FBLA Collegiate State Leadership Conference in Mandan 4/7 & 4/8! During the conference they earned the following awards:

Samuel Adjei -
4th place - Computer Applications
3rd place - Foundations of Computer Science

Chloe Gunderson -
3rd place - Sports Management & Marketing

Leah Nauman -
2nd place - Foundations of Communication
4th place - Parliamentary Procedure
5th place - Organizational Behavior & Leadership

Abigail Willis -
1st place - Business Communications
2nd place - Computer Applications

Abigail Willis and Leah Nauman also received the FBLA Who’s Who awards for their continuous contributions to and leadership displayed in DSU’s local FBLA chapter throughout the year.

In addition, Chloe Gunderson was named the new North Dakota FBLA Collegiate State President, a role that will lead the North Dakota FBLA Collegiate’s recruitment and State Leadership Conference planning efforts for the 2024-2025 academic year (to name just a couple of her leadership responsibilities).

DSU’s first in-person Phi Beta Lambda (PBL) National Leadership Conference in 3 years was a success! Congratulations to Anthony Campbell on his 4th place award in the Financial Concepts competition and on his 6th place award in the Retail Management competition. Congratulations to Natasha Baranko, Hugues Niyimbona, and Anna Kazimirska for being awarded the PBL NLC Scholarships, and congratulations to the entire DSU chapter for their Gold Seal Chapter Award recognition at nationals!

On top of all that great news, we had an AMAZING time while in Chicago at the Kenny Chesney, Dan & Shay, and Old Dominion concert at Soldier Field. We also took some cool lake and river boat tours, checked out Millennium Park and the Bean, shopped on Michigan Avenue, go-carted, went to a color museum, ate some awesome pizza and Chicago style hot dogs, and hung out by Lake Michigan.

Dickinson State University Phi Beta Lambda (PBL) members attended the ND PBL State Leadership Conference in Mandan on April 8th – April 9th. During this conference, students attended workshops, competed in up to three career skills competitions, and networked with other college students and business professionals.

The following DSU students earned awards in the top three placements in their events at the State Leadership Conference:

-Accounting for Professionals: Hugues Niyimbona (2nd place) & Natasha Baranko (3rd place)
-Business Ethics: Anna Kazimierska (3rd place)
-Entrepreneurship Concepts: Braxton Selle (2nd place)
-Financial Concepts: Anthony Campbell (1st place), Braxton Selle (2nd place), Hugues Niyimbona (3rd place)
-Information Management: Natasha Baranko (1st place)
-Job Interview: Madison Pearson (3rd place)
-Management Concepts: Anthony Campbell (3rd place)
-Marketing Concepts: Madison Pearson (2nd place)
-Microeconomics: Anna Kazimierska (2nd place)
-Organizational Behavior & Leadership: Anna Kazimierska (1st place)
-Retail Management: Anthony Campbell (1st place)

-Who’s Who Awards for DSU: Anna Kazimierska, Natasha Baranko, & Braxton Selle

-Largest Local Chapter Membership: Dickinson State University

In addition, Anna Kazimierska served as the ND Vice President of Member Development during the 2021-2022 year and was instrumental in the planning and operation of the ND State Leadership Conference. During the conference, Anna was elected as the President of the North Dakota PBL for the 2022-2023 year, and we look forward to the leadership she will provide to the PBL in North Dakota.
