Dear black woman,

I want to apologize for the situation that we have, placed you in.
You stood by our sides through much turmoil through plenty of heartache, only to be made to feel insecure. To think that you wasn't enough that you wasnt pretty enough strong enough wise enough. So you felt the need to prove yourself only to still not feel appreciated. Your struggle is my struggle your hurt is my hurt your pain is my pain.
I find delight in your success, joy in your smile pleasure in your pleasure. I hate what I have forced you to become. So now you cant see who I am you cant feel what I really mean you cant see what I can be. Because you have been hardened over time. And now you treat me how I have treated you, and I'm sorry for making you feel this way.
As though you are nothing and that you dont matter, and that any and everything is better than you. Because it's not. And I love you now more than I ever have, because now I understand.

Poetically venting

I really don't talk about my past, because while it was going on MF's didn't ask.
Family friends coworkers church people.
Never came to see about me, and to me that's evil.
Accepted what they was told as if they didn't know me.
Getting fed from one side and one side only.
You know, being by yourself for an only child is kinda homey.
Because you can be surrounded by people and still feel lonely.

Well placed kisses

There's nothing like well placed kisses.
So much power packed into such a compact space.
On the back of your hand, in the Palm, the base of your neck on your face.
On your forehead, ears, neck the opening portions of your lace.
Your feet, calf, thighs and all around your waist.
Saying hello, good bye, good morning, good night. A little kiss from a laugh, a kiss from a cry.
The kiss of tears on your cheeks, as it runs from your eye. That kiss that comes when do follows I.
Scraped up elbows and knees mommy mommy Please, and just like magic Mmmmwaahhh can ease.... the pain
So much power, packed in a compact space,
Nothing on earth can ever replace those, well placed kisses!
