The band did not film any promotional video clip for the album ā€œFor Those About To Rockā€, using three tracks from their December 1981 show at the Capital Center in Landover, MD. Their record company originally wanted them to film a video of the title track dressed as gladiators, an idea immediately turned down by the band.

The band had planned to record ā€œFor Those About To Rockā€ at Pathe Marconi studios in Paris, but ended up using the Rolling Stone mobile truck to record the album in the warehouse where they had rehearsed, H.I.S. Studios.
The album recording was interrupted in August by the bandā€™s first concert in 6 months, their first appearance at the ā€œMonsters Of Rockā€ Festival in Castle Donington.
