Jill Jack’s Eleanorfest cancelled

New music event to benefit Trinity House to be rescheduled at historic Redford Theatre

DETROIT, MI – May 28, 2020 – In January, the inaugural Jill Jack’s Eleanorfest: A Celebration of Women in Music event was announced for May 2, 2020 at the historic Redford Theatre and benefitting Trinity House in Livonia, Mich. When COVID-19 and the Gov. Gretchen Whitmer’s stay-home mandate went into effect, organizers decided to move the event to Oct. 3, 2020. After further considering the unforeseen future, the decision has now been made to cancel the event for this year.

"It saddens me, but I am forever an optimist that Eleanorfest will see the light of day next year,” Jill Jack said. “And when that day comes, it will be a beautiful benefit for Trinity House, bringing us all back together again in honor and celebration of women in music."

All tickets purchased will be refunded.

Jill Jack’s concern is that the Trinity House had to invest up front costs to bring this event to life with the hopes of recouping. Ticketholders who would like to donate to this organization are encouraged to send donations to

Jill Jack got a sneak peak of the talent for GRL PWR, taking place this Sunday March 15, 2020 at Trinity House and all she could she say, “Those judges are going to have a very hard job, the talent blew me away.”

Our judges know a thing or two about the talent and the discipline of working hard every day, especially this woman, Kristina Millman-Rinaldi. Most know her has a super hero saving the stray and homeless dogs of Detroit as the Executive Director of Detroit Dog Rescue (DDR). Her tenacity, perseverance and strength have led her to some of the most extreme animal cruelty cases in Detroit. Like any other woman, continuing to make change and history, she never backs down. She continues to rise up and faces adversity head on. Kristina continues to lead Detroit’s only non-skill shelter.

What you may not know about Kristina, is she too started in the music scene at the young age of 12. She started out working on street teams for groups like D12, King Gordy, SupaEmcee and then evolved into producing and ghost writing for acts who eventually signed to major labels.
We asked Kristina to share her story about a woman she most admires for for and here is what she told us:

Jackie Kallen was one of boxing's first and most successful managers who continues to stay relevant by reinventing herself and her ideas consistently.

I've had the privilege to work with Jackie Kallen on different occasions and I always find it an absolute honor. Her divergent thinking continues to not only reinvent herself and her talents, but it continues to evolve her audience on so many levels. After decades in the game of boxing, entertainment, management and public relations, she is still a reverse engineered thinker which means she sees people and ideas as successful before they reach an ultimate level of accomplishment. Once she's identified these people or ideas, then she creates plans to engineer their success, that is an art. This type of engineering takes not only someone with life experience, it takes someone incredibly compassionate and dedicated about their work.

I also consider her one of the great female hustlers and I mean that in the most endearing way. To this day, Jackie will still out work most of the population, man or woman. She's been doing it for decades while being a mother, a mentor and a businesswoman. In so many ways she refuses to limit herself to one category despite what anyone thinks, and she's paved the way as an example for so many other women without knowing it and to me that's what a hero does. She doesn't set out to be a hero, she's just her most authentic self and that takes courage.

In the spirit of "Women's History Month," all the women involved with Jill Jack's Eleanorfest are sharing their favorite women throughout history by sharing .

Annie Capps shared the following about her female inspirations:

At this time in my life, Patti Smith is popping out to me as a woman who represents everything I admire in a human; strength, independence, fearlessness, creativity, integrity, activism, poetry, intensity, generosity and tenderness. Though she was certainly an influential voice in my earlier rocker days, (what girl singer didn't cover "Because the Night"), I rediscovered and came to admire her much later after reading "Just Kids".

As a songwriter, singer, speaker, author, and activist, Patti Smith lives in way that makes me want to be better. Even now in her 70's she's a badass and breathtaking performer, and continues to use her voice to speak out about social injustice. This woman's presence on earth makes it a richer planet.
