🏁 2026 Champion Spotlight 🏁

Congratulations to Yared Nuguse, winner of the 2026 USATF Men's 1 Mile Championship at the Grand Blue Mile, presented by Wellmark Blue Cross and Blue Shield.

Yared raced to victory on World Record Way in a course-record time of 3:54.06, setting a new U.S. All-Comers road mile record in the process. As one of the top two finishers, he also secured his place on Team USA for the World Athletics Road Running Championships in Copenhagen, Denmark.

👏 Congratulations, Yared, on an incredible championship performance. Best of luck representing the United States on the world stage!

🏁 2026 Champion Spotlight 🏁

Congratulations to Addy Wiley, winner of the 2026 USATF Women's 1 Mile Championship at the Grand Blue Mile, presented by Wellmark Blue Cross and Blue Shield.

Addy crossed the finish line on World Record Way in a winning time of 4:25.42 to claim the national title. As one of the top two finishers, she also secured her place on Team USA and will represent the United States at the World Road Running Championships in Copenhagen, Denmark this September.

👏 Congratulations, Addy, and best of luck on the world stage!

🏁 2026 Champion Spotlight 🏁

Congratulations to Jaden Merrick, winner of the Men's Competitive Division at the 2026 Grand Blue Mile, presented by Wellmark Blue Cross and Blue Shield.

Jaden crossed the finish line on World Record Way in a winning time of 4:20. Just three days later, he captured the 10,000-meter title at the Drake Relays in 29:36, recording one of the top 10 performances ever by a U.S. high school athlete! Jaden will continue his running career at Iowa State this fall.

The competition was fierce on Grand Ave. during the 2026 Grand Blue Mile, presented by Wellmark Blue Cross and Blue Shield.

Congratulations to Nikki Borner, winner of the Women’s Competitive Division, who earned the victory with a finishing time of 5:12!

Today’s spotlight: Justin Fiske, 2026 USATF Men’s Masters 1 Mile Champion, who claimed the national title with a winning time of 4:30 on World Record Way in downtown Des Moines!
