Over the past few months, these students have learned how to perform this beautiful musical. Beyond that, they have learned how to collaborate, share ideas, support each other, give and get feedback, and how to work despite or through some tough teenage life stuff.
I am so proud of how they have stuck together and created this show together. As the adults, we give them the tools and the space, but they are the ones who have to fly. And, they are SOARING!
They have built more than a show: Their confidence, leadership, artistry, acceptance, and friendship. Onstage and off, the students are stepping up to solve problems and create magic. Being witness to that process is why I keep showing up!
These young people deserve the world and I'm so grateful and proud to be part of theirs in this moment!
One more chance to see Once on this Island at North! 7 pm tonight!
