Mary's Meals Run A 5K / 10K walk/run that raises money to feed kids in Malawi at their place of education every day for one school year through Mary’s Meals.

Event is organized by local Des Moines volunteers. We hope you'll join us for the Mary's Meals 10K and 5K walk / run on May 13, 2017 in West Des Moines' Historic Valley Junction. The race starts at 9 a.m. with a Kids' Fun Run to follow. Your registration - whether it's for the 10K or the 5K - will feed one child for an ENTIRE school year. Wow - what a gift!!! Our Story

The Des Moines Mary's Meals: Race to Fight Hunger 5K / 10K was created and planned by a group of local volunteers who are passionate about feeding children in most desperate need of food.

Proceeds from the 5K / 10K will be donated to the non-profit organization, Mary's Meals, which is focused on one goal – feeding every child a nutritious daily meal in a place of education.

These life-changing meals attract hungry children into the classroom. The food fills their empty bellies so they have the energy and opportunity to learn, giving them the chance of a brighter future. The meals also support families struggling to feed their children while boosting the country’s wider economy.
