Each September the community celebrates this in a variety of ways, including the traditional parade, the Railroad Days festival, a Hobo Picnic, and much more! We also host a

Of the three locations where there will be free public viewing of the Union Pacific’s Big Boy steam locomotive in the Altoona area between July 8 and 11 while the machine is parked, one spot will require significant infrastructure preparation.
