Smoke on the Plains BBQ & Music Fest The 15th Annual Derby BBQ & Music Fest is June 12 & 13, 2026. Are you ready to get down at High Park this summer? Friday night’s activities run from 6 to 10 p.m.

Join the City of Derby for the 13th Annual Smoke on the Plains BBQ and Music Fest presented by Rock Regional Hospital on June 7 & 8, 2024. and include live music, People’s Choice tasting contest where you can try competition pulled pork samples, cornhole tournament, Beer & Beverage Garden, Shaken or Stirred Bartending, and food trucks. On Saturday morning the park will be filled with delicious smells as teams prepare for the KCBS and Backyard BBQ Cook-off. The Car Show runs from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. and the Smokin' 5 kicks off at 7:30 a.m. The Kids Corner activities run from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and include inflatables, face painters, foam parties, princesses and more. Enjoy kid's entertainment on the mainstage from 9 to 10:15 a.m. followed by live music. On Saturday night we welcome back 80s cover band Paramount with opener Candice & the Business Casual. Enjoy food trucks, Beer and Beverage Garden, and Shaken or Stirred Bartending during a fun evening at the park. This is a free community event thanks to the support of our generous sponsors. Proceeds from the event benefit the McConnell Air Force Base Military and Family Readiness Center.

At the August 25 City Council meeting, Andrea Walters, Marketing and Events Manager, presented a post-event report on the 15th Annual Smoke on the Plains BBQ & Music Fest.

One of the goals of the event is to show support for military families. A $2,250 donation was presented to McConnell AFB Military and Family Readiness from the City of Derby and The Derby Lions Club .

Check out today’s lineup of activities, live music, food, and great BBQ.

For the People’s Choice Tasting Contest, tasting kits will be available for purchase at the tent south of the amphitheater at 6:30 p.m. The $5 kit includes six, two oz samples. The event starts at 7 p.m. and ends when we sell out.

We’ll see you at High Park at 6 p.m.!
