Some nice June dates coming right up. Hope you can join me on The Western Road, beginning with the incredible Devereaux Cup Polo Match in New Castle, Colorado, on Sunday, June 14. The following Tuesday (June 16), the great Mike Blakely joins Ernie and me for America's Soul Live at Foothills Restaurant and Events Space. On June 19th, I'll enjoy my first appearance at the iconic Nuevo Americana Festival in Jaroso, Colorado...The summer's just getting started, let's all travel down The Western Road.

June's America's Soul Live is gonna be a dandy. Our old friend and ASL favorite Mike Blakely is making the sojourn from Texas to join Ernie and Jon, bringing his award-winning songs and stories to our Colorado stage...and, knowing Mike, to catch a few fish. It's great to have this renowned songwriter/singer and author back at ASL. We'll see you on Tuesday, June 16. As always, come early to enjoy some fine drink and vittles at the Foothills Restaurant.

I'm excited to be invited to perform on Friday, June 19, at the coolest venue in the Northern New Mexico/Southern Colorado Americana music community, Chris Arellano's Nuevo Americana Festival. The venue's site was recently changed to the iconic Little Pink Church in the border town of Jaroso, Colorado. The musical lineup is stellar, with incredible music at every turn. Great food, outdoor recreation, camping, tons of fine music...what more could you ask for? The Historic Hotel Colorado in Glenwood Springs, CO, is my "happy place." I've been in love with the Hotel since I was a kid, and have been fortunate to have a wonderful relationship with it throughout my life. GM Larry MacDonald and his staff are the best folks in the hospitality business, and I'm delighted to return for Memorial Day Weekend to perform shows on Saturday, May 23, and Sunday, May 24. The Hotel's Courtyard is one of my favorite places to perform, and I'll be pulling out a few gems I don't play often enough. Hope to see you at the Hotel Colorado this weekend.

What a spectacular America's Soul Live last night. We did a salute to Raven Records, Jim Ratts' iconic label and recording studio in Denver, featuring some marvelous pickers and singers who have recorded there. Jim & Salli were great, as usual, and keyboard master Rob Lowe was spellbinding. Adding keys to my new single, The Western Road, was a wonderful surprise, with Rob and Ernie killing the solos. Anne McCain's cover of a Dan Fogelberg gem was beyond moving, and Patty Clayton, Gavin Maurer, and Steve Pierce brought marvelous original tunes. Jolly Demis brought the house down with his trademark humor just days after confirming his remission from cancer. An amazing night all around. Don't miss next month's show on Tuesday, June 16, when ASL favorite Mike Blakely joins Ernie and me. See you then!

We have a great America's Soul Live coming up on Tuesday...A Salute to Raven Records! Our pal Jim Ratts started Raven Records a couple of decades ago and has produced hundreds of recordings for tons of Colorado's finest musicians, singers, and songwriters. So...I've asked several folks who have recorded at Raven Records to join us on Tuesday to highlight some of the fine music that has been produced in Jim's iconic studio. Jim & Salli Ratts, yours truly, Ernie Martinez, Patty Clayton, Gavin Maurer, Steve Pierce, and more surprises will be on hand to participate in this tribute to one of Denver's finest recording studios. This week's April 30 and May 1 courtyard shows at the Historic Hotel Colorado in Glenwood Springs have been postponed. Colorado's fickle weather has struck again, and due to a less-than-ideal forecast this week, The Hotel Colorado has pushed back the season's opening of the lovely courtyard. As a result, I'll now be performing in the courtyard on Saturday, May 23, and Sunday, May 24. We'll cross our fingers for great weather and hope to see our Glenwood Springs folks in a couple of weeks. We'll see you up in God's country!

I am so honored that dear friend and talented author, Corrine Joy Brown, asked me to be involved with her upcoming event at the Historic Cherokee Castle and Ranch in Sedalia, CO, on Sunday, May 3. Corinne's new book is “How to Be an Urban Cowgirl and Find Your Inner West," a light-hearted guide to being a cowgirl even if you don’t live on a ranch. She has a fantastic book-signing event planned...AND she's asked me to corral Ernie and join her for all the festivities. It's a great chance for Western types to gather, tour the breathtaking and historically significant castle, watch and listen to Jon & Ernie, and experience Corinne's singular presentation of her work. Reservations include time to explore the Castle, the showcase concert, presentation, and talk, and a chance to buy the book and have it signed! Hope you can join Corinne for this great event.
