A multi-day extravaganza of food, wine, and spirits events celebrating the best of Colorado's dining scene, the finest beverages, educational tasting seminars, and the signature Grand Tasting. The Denver Food + Wine Festival is a multi-day extravaganza of food, wine, and spirits events presented by the Colorado Restaurant Foundation and Southern Glazer’s Wine & Spirits taking place September 6 - 1

The annual event benefits the Colorado Restaurant Foundation, which supports worker education, training, and Colorado ProStart®, the state’s high school culinary and entrepreneurship program; mental health and wellness resources; and the Angel Relief Fund, which provides grants for hospitality employees experiencing hardship. Festival events feature the best of Colorado’s restaurant community, the finest wine and spirits, educational seminars, and the culminating signature Grand Tasting. The DF+WF Grand Tasting is an outdoor event that will be held rain or shine on September 10 at the Tivoli Quad on the Auraria Campus, at 1000 Larimer Street in Denver.

At last year’s Denver Food + Wine Festival Shake + Brake Showdown, Sebastian Zydek of Lazy Dog Bar & Grill earned the Judges’ Choice honors with Life’s a Garden, Dig It!, a vibrant tequila cocktail layered with bright lemon, a touch of Campari, and a house-made garden jam bursting with sweet yellow bell pepper, ripe strawberry, subtle heat from habanero, and cracked black pepper. It’s savory, citrusy, lightly spicy... and impossibly refreshing over crushed ice.

Anna Westby of El Matador captured the People’s Choice award with The Bloom After, an elegant gin cocktail that opens with soft lavender and honeyed almond, brightens with fresh lime, and finishes with a sparkling lift and a whisper of vanilla, elderflower, and orange blossom aromatics. It’s floral, effervescent, and beautifully balanced.

Together, they showcase the depth and range of Denver’s cocktail culture — from bold and savory to light and aromatic.

In September, the Colorado ProStart® students at Smoky Hill High School attended an unforgettable master class from renowned Denver chef Carrie Baird, during the Denver Food + Wine Festival’s Top Chef Showcase, where Top Chef alumni mentor local culinary students.

Chef Carrie is known for her inventive, flavor-forward approach to modern comfort food. A James Beard Award semifinalist and Top Chef finalist, she has built a reputation for blending creativity and warmth into every dish she creates.

Chef Carrie led students in preparing her signature “Fancy Toast,” a favorite at her Denver restaurant Fox and the Hen. Then the students helped prep the dish for the festival, and together, Carrie and the students served more than 1,500 bites to Denver Food + Wine Festival attendees—an incredible hands-on experience for these future culinary stars.
