If you've been wondering what b**r we'll serve at The Denver Wiesn this October, we have some exciting news for you: HOFBRÄU MÜNCHEN! It's true — we'll feature draft b**r imported from the brewery in Munich, where they've been crafting b**r with recipes originally handed down by the Duke of Bavaria for more than 400 years. We can hardly wait!

It didn't take long for the first Oktoberfest to grow into a beloved annual event that celebrates the culture, food, and history of Bavaria. We're celebrating the same thing at our Denver Wiesn right here in the Mile High over two weekends this October—but we're also celebrating the commonalities between Bavaria and Colorado. Our Wiesn grew out of the City2City Munich-Denver Economic Partnership signed by the mayors of Munich and Denver in 2024. It's our honor and privilege to launch this big event in celebration of the partnership between our two world-class cities!

In October 1810, members of the Bavarian royalty and military hosted a great horse race to celebrate the wedding of Prince Regent Ludwig of Bavaria and Princess Therese of Saxe-Hildburghausen. The race took place in a meadow outside the gates of Munich, and they named that meadow "Theresens-Wiese," to honor of the bride. The nickname for the meadow: "the Wiesn."

That's the beginning of Oktoberfest, now the largest folk festival in the world, with millions of people traveling to Munich every year, and countless Oktoberfest celebrations taking place in cities throughout the world. We are proud to add our Wiesn to the long list of Oktoberfest celebrations starting this October, over two weekends at the National Western Center. We're inspired by Bavarian history and culture, and we're thrilled to bring an authentic Bavarian experience that's family friendly and cross cultural to Colorado. Mark your calendars:

First weekend: October 16-18
Second weekend: October 22-25

Oktoberfest - The Denver Wiesn will include a 108-foot tall observation wheel, offering views of the festival plaza, downtown Denver, and the Rocky Mountains. We take inspiration from Oktoberfest in Munich, where a similarly large ferris wheel has entertained festivalgoers since the 1970s. Looking forward to bringing Bavarian culture to the Mile High over two weekends this October!
