Dear North Texas Makers Community,
After much thought and reflection, we have made the difficult decision to suspend North Texas Makers/ Denton Makers Fest indefinitely.
We started NTM six years ago as fresh-faced college art students. In that time, we saw our little monthly show grow into an art festival and from a festival into an arts organization. While our organization grew and changed, so did our lives. In the last six years, we have graduated, returned to school, began our careers, followed the success of our creative endeavors, and started families. The increasing demand between our personal lives and the accelerated growth of the show has led us to the devastating realization that we no longer can give NTM the time and care it deserves.
We have spent thousands of volunteer hours fostering creativity, supporting local artists and makers, and celebrating the vibrant art community in Denton and the North Texas area. We want to personally thank Andrew Ashton, Macy Belton, Drew Griffith, Mir Ortiz, the ThinLine team, The Greater Denton Arts Council, Armadillo Ale Works, the City of Denton, and all the other volunteers and creatives who donated their time to making NTM a success.
However, none of this would have been possible without you. We are incredibly grateful for the support of our makers, vendors, attendees, and friends we’ve made along the way, who have helped make every event memorable.
While we are saying farewell for now, we are not saying goodbye forever. This hiatus will allow us to regroup, reflect, and focus on North Texas Makers’ future.
See you later, friends,
The North Texas Makers Team:
David Baker, Madison Schmidt, & Samuel Wiggins
