I am raising money to offer Darrelle Revis, outside of his NFL contract, to play for the New England Patriots for the 2015 / 16 season while allowing the team the ability to keep their roster intact ( in Bill we trust after all ). I have contacted the NFL and read through their bylaws. No where do they address the scenario of a non affiliate of the NFL ( or a fan base ) offering a player money to play for a preferred team. According to the NFL bylaws, and the people who I have spoken to within the league, this campaign is legal. The best advice I got was "Run your campaign. The worst the NFL can do is shut you down.", in which case all of the money raised will go to patriot charities.
OK TRUE Patriots fans, lets show the world why were the greatest fan base in organization could ask for! We have over 10 million fans, so if we each give just $1, we have met our goal! Let's DO OUR JOB!
