🌅 Some sunsets feel like they belong in a Hallmark movie… and tonight was one of them. 🤍

There’s something truly magical about golden hour here at Whispering Oaks Venue.

As the sun began to set over the farmland at the end of our long, tree-lined driveway, the sky turned into the most breathtaking backdrop. Our photographer gathered family members outside to capture some beautiful sunset portraits, and I cannot wait to see those photos!

Over the years, so many brides and grooms have stood in this very spot, capturing moments that will become treasured memories for a lifetime.

Tonight, as I drove around the property, I couldn’t help but stop and take it all in. I wanted to share a little of that beauty with you through the videos and pictures I captured. ✨

Eight private acres. Peaceful countryside. No city lights. Just wide-open skies, beautiful sunsets, and a little bit of magic.

Jay and I have poured our hearts into Whispering Oaks Venue, and there is something so special about sharing this place with the families who walk through our gates.

Dreaming of a summer barn wedding, but worried about the heat? We have some exciting news! 🤍🌿

BIG things are happening at Whispering Oaks Venue, and we’re taking another step toward making your wedding day even more comfortable!

We’re currently installing mini-split heating and cooling systems in our beautiful 1950s Quonset-style barn! We’re also hardwiring our industrial-sized ceiling fans so they’ll operate together with the flip of a switch!

The combination of these upgrades is expected to make a wonderful difference during those warm July and August weddings, as well as those chilly spring and fall evenings!

One thing we’ve always loved about our barn is its incredible character. The sweeping, curved wooden beams and unique architecture are part of what makes Whispering Oaks so special. We’ve intentionally preserved that beauty rather than covering it with insulation that would change its appearance.

And now we’re finding ways to improve comfort while keeping the charm we all love! 🤍

MORE EXCITING NEWS! We’re expanding our wedding season! Beginning in 2027, we’ll be welcoming weddings from the last weekend in April through the first weekend in November!

As a family-owned and operated venue, we pour so much love, time, and effort into making Whispering Oaks something truly special. We love bringing you along on our journey and sharing the improvements we’re making year after year!

Our new systems should be up and running in the next few weeks, and we can’t wait!

While walking our property yesterday, waiting for a couple to arrive for their tour, I thought I’d share a little piece of what makes our venue so special!

Our beautiful A-frame wedding chapel, elegant chandelier, and white garden chairs create a naturally beautiful setting that needs very little extra decor. And because Indiana weather can be unpredictable, we also offer a gorgeous indoor ceremony option inside our barn, complete with flowing sheers, chandeliers, and twinkle lights. ✨

I’m so honored to be one of the guest speakers at the Trust Without Limitations Women’s Conference next Sunday, October 11th, at Whispering Oaks.

This event is hosted by Woven Hope, an incredible local organization that comes alongside women who are rebuilding their lives after some incredibly difficult circumstances—including addiction and recovery, domestic violence, sexual exploitation, and homelessness. They provide practical support, encouragement, resources, and help women take those next steps toward stability, healing, and a new beginning.

I absolutely love the heart behind what they do, and I’m honored to be a small part of this event.

✨ THE NIGHT BEFORE THE WEDDING… ✨

Today was a busy and beautiful day here at Whispering Oaks! 🤍

I had the pleasure of spending time with Danielle & Colton and their family as they decorated, prepared for tomorrow, and held their rehearsal here at the venue. Because we didn’t have a wedding today, we were able to let them come in early and get so much accomplished — making tomorrow that much more relaxed and enjoyable for them. 💍✨

Tomorrow, the florist will deliver fresh flowers for the tables, and our team will be here taking care of the behind-the-scenes details — from parking guests to meeting the caterers and helping with vendors — so Danielle, Colton and their families can simply enjoy their wedding day. 🌸🥂

That’s what we believe excellent hospitality looks like.

We don’t want our couples to feel like just another client. We want you to feel like family. ❤️

And speaking of people… after spending the day with Danielle and Colton’s family, I had the pleasure this evening of giving two private tours to two amazing families considering Whispering Oaks for their own special celebrations. I absolutely love meeting people and sharing this beautiful property with them! 🌿🤍

A sweet bride’s mom even told me tonight, “I can just tell you love what you do.” 🥹

And she’s right. Jay and I truly love what we do. We love hospitality, we love caring for others, and we love being part of these special moments.

I snapped this quick photo of the barn tonight while Danielle & Colton were still getting everything together. It’s not even completely decorated yet, but I thought it was beautiful — especially with that gorgeous painting waiting for tomorrow’s reception. 🖼️✨

What an absolutely beautiful wedding day at Whispering Oaks! 🤍 The weather truly could not have been more perfect.

I can’t wait to share the professional photos when we receive them, but for now, I had to share a few cell phone snapshots I grabbed throughout the day.

I had the privilege of decorating for our beautiful bride, Elizabeth, and this one was especially fun for me.

I was able to have everything finished a few days early so she could come in and see it before the big day.
When she walked into the reception space, she gasped—and seeing how much she loved everything made my heart so happy. 🥹🤍

The black tablecloths with this decor combination may officially be one of my favorites! My nieces came out to help me decorate, which made it even more special, and we received so many sweet compliments on everything tonight.

At Whispering Oaks, our brides have the option of decorating themselves or hiring me and my team to take care of it for them. I truly love getting to help bring a bride’s vision to life and seeing her face when it all comes together.

And tonight couldn’t have ended more perfectly—the bonfires are lit, the s’mores are ready, and guests will enjoy this gorgeous fall evening around the fire after dinner.🔥🤍
