🌎 World Environment Day 🌲
In case you didn't know, my oldest Ninja is studying Ecology and Conservation Biology in college and working with the Forest Service this summer. She spends her days learning about ecosystems, forests, wildlife, and how we can be better stewards of the world around us.
When I look at her I see my younger self. When I was young, I was passionate about nature and environmental issues. I spent my time outdoors, I cared about protecting our forests and waters, and I still do!
As I've gotten older, I've learned that changing the world doesn't always happen through grand gestures. Sometimes it happens through raising children who care. Through leaving places and people a little better than we found them.
Maybe some dreams don't disappear—they simply continue through the next generation.
Today I'm grateful for our forests, our waters, public lands, mountain trails, wildlife, and the people who dedicate their lives to protecting them.
And I'm especially grateful for one young woman who will go out and change the world. ❤️. Proud of you Kaylee, now and forever!
Happy World Environment Day.
