Ultimately, what Amodei described as his “labor of love” is meant to be more than just a retelling of a historical event. It is also, he declared, a tribute to how much that game, and that team, meant and continues to mean five decades later, to the Delaware Valley and the identity of those who live here.

Philadelphia has seen its share of monumental sporting events, but only once has it or anywhere else experienced what took place on the afternoon of Sunday, Jan

Dr. Patricia Shanely, co-founder of Forest and Climate Training (FACT), as well as Woods and Wayside International, believes the solution is both straightforward and transformative: Reconnect kids with nature. Research shows that time in nature lowers stress and restores focus for kids, while also fostering empathy for other living things.

Nowadays, children and young adults are mostly indoors, glued to screens for school and “social life.” Research suggests it's taking a toll on their mental

Officials came together on April 29 to discuss emergency preparedness and response and answered questions about evacuation plans in flood-prone areas along the Delaware River and its tributaries: the Pompeston, Rancocas and Pennsauken creeks.

“Most people don’t think about emergency management until something goes wrong," said Cinnaminson Office of Emergency (OEM) Director Danny Norman to the nearly 40 residents attending the Emergency Services Forum at the township municipal building.

The forum's goal is to learn about emergency preparedness and response and see how it all ties in, explained Norman, adding that OEMs “came into existence during World War II in case of air strikes. Now every state, county and town has an OEM."

Over time, OEMs have responded to natural disasters and health emergencies, he added.

“We just came out of that with COVID.”

In case of a big fire, “OEM is called in to coordinate with the incident commander and provide support,” Norman explained.

Burlington County Animal Alliance's Adoptable Pet of the Week: Meet Brownie 🤎

At 8 years young and 60 pounds, Brownie is the perfect mix of wisdom, sweetness, and just the right amount of playful spirit. After spending years in a shelter, she’s mastered what it means to be a truly great companion—loyal, loving, and always by your side.

Brownie is a smart girl who enjoys figuring out puzzles and games, and she still has a little bounce in her step for gentle walks and playtime. She’s crate trained, but if she had her way, she’d happily trade that in for a cozy spot next to you on the couch.

She’s independent when she wants to be, but never too busy for a cuddle session. Brownie is dog selective, and while we’re still learning which dogs she may get along with, she would likely be happiest as the only dog in the home where she can soak up all the love. The good news? She does great with cats!

Through everything life has thrown her way, Brownie has stayed brave, kind, and full of love. Now all she’s missing is a forever home to call her own.

Each year, volunteers comb New Jersey’s beaches and consistently find that plastic dominates what’s left behind. In recent cleanups, more than 80 percent of all debris collected was plastic, much of it single-use items like food wrappers, bottle caps and takeout waste.

Across New Jersey, takeout orders come with a side of waste: plastic utensils and condiment packets we never use. These small items add up quickly, often spilli
