Last batch of fire horses — and what a way to close it out. 🐴🔥

In the Lunar New Year calendar, each year is connected to an animal that represents certain qualities. 2026 is the Year of the Horse — and these kids showed us exactly what that means.

Thank you to every child who picked up a pencil, crayon, or marker and gave us their vision. You made this festival even more special.

These kids brought the fire horse to life — and we are so grateful.

Our drawing contest was a bright spot of this year's Decatur Lunar New Year festival, and while we didn't get a chance to share all the entries before March 1st, we didn't want a single one to go uncelebrated. Every submission deserved to be seen.

So here they are. 33 young artists, ages 6–13, who imagined what the Year of the Fire Horse means to them. We are in awe.

🖨️ Edwin Jarvis Print & CoWork — Founding Sponsor

Before this was a citywide festival, it was an idea. A conversation. A “what if.”

Edwin Jarvis Print & CoWork has been there from the very beginning — not just as a sponsor, but as a gathering space, a production hub, and a community anchor.

So much of what you see at Decatur Lunar New Year — the signage, the printed materials, the behind-the-scenes logistics — flows through this creative space in Clarkston. But more than that, Edwin Jarvis represents what this festival is about: immigrant entrepreneurship, resourcefulness, and building something beautiful together.

We are proud to call them a Founding Sponsor and an integral part of the DNA of this festival.

🧋 Rebel Teahouse — Organizing Sponsor

Rebel Teahouse has always been more than a boba shop.

At their space on Ponce, they’ve consistently opened their doors to popup vendors, artists, and small businesses — creating space for Asian American makers to test ideas, build audiences, and find community.

That same spirit is what they’ve brought to the Decatur Lunar New Year Festival.

As an Organizing Sponsor, Rebel hasn’t just supported the event — they’ve helped shape the marketplace itself. The connections, the vendor relationships, the collaborative energy — so much of that flows from the community they’ve nurtured year-round.

They know how to gather people.
They know how to spotlight makers.
They know how to build something that feels alive.

We’re incredibly grateful for their leadership, their generosity, and their belief in this festival from the start.
