On August 29, some of the Spirit of the Veteran and Warrior powwow family spent the day at the Meigs County Fair! We talked to fair-goers about the powwow, showcased Native American music, and did some dance demonstrations. We took some donations and had a couple of booths with Native inspired items. This was a fundraiser event for our November powwow.

Come join the Spirit of the Veteran and Warrior Powwow family tomorrow, Aug 29, at the Meigs County Fair!

We will be there from 12 noon to 8pm with a life-sized tipi, a living history village exhibition, and demonstration dancing for all to enjoy. There will also be two booths with Native American inspired crafts and things for sale to raise funds for our powwow in November. Take a break from the midway and step into real Native American culture.

July Fundraiser #2:
Beaded Wire Hoop Earrings

On Saturday, July 18, we will have a second workshop available from 3-6pm. We will have Tonya Dockrey as facilitator, and she will be sharing how to create beaded wire hoop earrings. The cost of the class is $30, and you will receive instruction, assistance, all supplies, and a snack.

The location will be Rhea County Fairgrounds in the Master Gardener building in the back.

July Fundraiser: Medicine Bags

For our July 18th powwow fundraiser, you will be able to craft your very own medicine bag! Saturday, July 18,
12 to 3pm.

The workshop will be facilitated by Sheila Weaver, and cost $30. This will include the teaching, instruction, all materials and supplies, plus a snack. Location will be the Rhea County Fairgrounds, in the Master Gardener building in the back.
