‘September Surprise’-In the South, usually sometime in September, the Lycoris radiata blooms to the delight for all who see. Names like Red Spider Lily, Hurricane Lily, School House Lily, Resurrection Lily, Surprise Lily and Naked Ladies all refer to this lily in the Amaryllis family. Lycoris named after Marc Antony’s mistress.
