Atari Party

Atari Party Atari Party is an event to celebrate old video games. It's a kind of hands-on, living museum, where various game systems and games will be showcased.

It's a free event, open to the public, and all games will be available to play for free. Note: This is not a trading or selling event. All games are from volunteers' personal collections, and are being brought so everyone can play them. It has so far been held annually in Davis from 2009 to 2011, hosted by the Digital Game Museum in Sunnyvale in 2012, and mini-events for teens have been held at lo

cal public libraries in 2011 & 2012. Originally conceived as an Atari 2600 fan's answer to Wii Parties ("we can do it too, with 4 paddles & a copy of "Warlords"), the first party evolved into a 3 hour public event at the local library. Subsequent years the party grew in length, size and scope: give-away prizes, guest speakers, feature film screenings, and Atarians from out of state coming to exhibit their gear. At the same time, local libraries asked us for help running much shorter, smaller "retro gaming" events, just for teens.
