The list is very long.

The 2026 Quad Cities Summer Games are already ahead of last year’s registration numbers, which is encouraging, but we would love to finish even stronger and include as many people as possible because that is the mission of the Games.

On-line registration for all remaining events will remain open through midnight on 5/29. After that, participants may still enter by bringing a paper registration form and check to the event.

We have already seen some excellent performances, including a winning time of 21:42 in the 5.1-mile skating time trial — approximately 4:15 per mile. (The route included the Emeis hills on the Duck Creek Trail in both directions.)

Still ahead are:

• Golf
• Bocce
• Disc Golf Throw
• Spelling Bee
• USMS-recognized Swim Meet (don't need to be USMS)
• Throwing Pentathlon
• 10K Cycling Time Trial
• 20K Cycling Road Race
• E-bike / Tandem / Recumbent Exhibition Ride
• Youth Track & Field Meet
• Track & Field
• Bowling
• Horseshoes
• Basketball events
• Football events
• Strength events
• Euchre
• Closing Ceremonies

The Games are designed to welcome participants of all ability levels — from serious competitors to people simply looking to stay active, social, and engaged.

For just $40, participants receive unlimited event entry, an official T-shirt, up to three earned medals, and a picnic meal at the Closing Ceremonies.

IMPORTANT 2026 QC Summer Games REGISTRATION UPDATE

On-line registration for all remaining 2026 Quad Cities Summer Games events will remain open through midnight on 5/29.

This is a correction/update to some of the earlier registration information shown under the “2026 INFO” tab on the Summer Games homepage.

After discussing things internally, this approach simply seems to make more sense for everyone and better reflects the inclusive spirit of the Games.

If you are considering participating, as of 5/25, there is still time to register on-line for events including:
• Golf
• Bocce
• Disc Golf Throw
• Spelling Bee
• USMS-recognized Swim Meet
• Throwing Pentathlon
• 10K Cycling Time Trial
• 20K Cycling Road Race
• E-bike / Tandem / Recumbent Exhibition Ride
• Track & Field
• Bowling
• Horseshoes
• Basketball events
• Football events
• Strength events
• Euchre
• Youth Track & Field Meet

For all events on 5/30, if you have not registered on-line by 5/29, you may still participate by bringing a printed paper registration form and check with you on event day.

Consistent with the mission of the Games, we want to make sure we do not unnecessarily exclude anyone who wants to participate.

We are trying hard to make the Games welcoming, flexible, and accessible to people of all ability levels.

A reminder that despite the 2026 Quad Cities Summer Games already being underway, only four events have been completed so far. The overwhelming majority of the Games is still ahead.

On-line registration remains open for everything except the Memorial Day 5K Run/Walk, which is now walk-up paper registration only.

Still ahead are:
• Memorial Day 5K Run/Walk
• Youth Track & Field Meet
• Golf
• Bocce
• Disc Golf
• Spelling Bee
• USMS-recognized Swim Meet ( do not need to be USMS member)
• Throwing Pentathlon
• 10K Cycling Time Trial
• 20K Cycling Road Race
• E-bike / Tandem / Recumbent Exhibition Ride
• Track & Field
• Bowling
• Horseshoes
• Basketball events
• Football events
• Strength events
• Euchre
• Opening Ceremonies
• Closing Ceremonies

The Games are spread out over roughly two weeks, so different events have different registration deadlines. Sometimes people see one deadline and mistakenly assume everything has closed. Hence this reminder.

For just $40, participants receive unlimited event entry, an official T-shirt, up to three earned medals, pizza at the Opening Ceremonies, and a picnic meal at the Closing Ceremonies.

Participants of all ability levels are welcome — from serious competitors to people simply looking to stay active, social, and engaged.

The 2026 Quad Cities Summer Games are officially underway, but with the exception of Pickleball, Shuffleboard, and Cribbage, everything is still ahead of us.

Still to come:
• Memorial Day 5K Run/Walk (on-line registration has closed, but walk-up paper entries will still be accepted on race day)
• USMS-recognized Swim Meet (you do NOT need to be a USMS member — anyone age 18+ is welcome; it is already shaping up to be our biggest swim meet in years, but we still have plenty of room for more swimmers)
• Youth Track & Field Meet (already roughly triple the size of last year)
• Cycling events
• disc golf
• regular golf
• track and field
• spelling bee
• Bowling
• Horseshoes
• Basketball events
• Football events
• Strength events
• Euchre
• Opening Ceremonies
• Closing Ceremonies
• And more

We already have registrants from 10 states and excellent momentum heading into the biggest stretch of the Games.

For just $40, participants receive unlimited event entry, an official T-shirt, up to three earned medals, pizza at the Opening Ceremonies, and a picnic meal at the Closing Ceremonies.

Participants of all ability levels are welcome — from nationally ranked competitors to people simply looking to stay active, social, and engaged.

If you enter the Quad Cities Running Festival 5k through the Summer Games www.qcsogo.org you are entitled to full privileges of the 5k as well as everything the Summer Games offer including unlimited events, up to 3 earned medals, T-shirt, and food at the opening and closing ceremonies.

The on-line registration for the above closes Thursday, 5/21 at midnight

- this is so that we can get the Summer Games entries to them in time for packet pick-up on Saturday. (You will still be able to do walk-up entries, but registering on-line would be easiest.)

The youth meet looks like it will have about 75 participants, and we can still accommodate more. See website for more details. If you bring youngsters to this meet be prepared to be asked to come out of the stands and help. Thank you.

Of course, we also hope that the folks bringing youngsters to the youth meet register for the regular Summer Games themselves.

Cribbage is coming up this Friday, 5/22, as part of the 2026 Quad Cities Summer Games, and the event is already shaping up nicely with 20 entries so far and additional walk-ins expected. Yes, you could conceivably learn to play between now and Friday and hold your own.

Also, if you are planning to attend the Opening Ceremonies and eat pizza with us, please let us know if you have not already done so. It helps us tremendously with planning.

Reminder: the on-line registration deadline for the Memorial Day 5K Run/Walk is Thursday, May 21 at midnight. The 5K already has 27 registrants. You get an incredible deal if you register through us with everything the race has to offer PLUS everything the Summer Games have to offer. Why would anyone over 40 do this any other way?

And while Pickleball and Shuffleboard are already complete, everything else in the Games is still ahead, including:
• Swimming
• Cycling
• Track & Field
• Bowling
• Horseshoes
• Basketball events
• Football events
• Strength events
• Euchre
• Cribbage
• And more

For just $40, participants can enter unlimited events and receive an official T-shirt, up to three earned medals, pizza at the Opening Ceremonies, and a picnic meal at the Closing Ceremonies.

And we're off!!

The 2026 QC Summer Games kicked off on Saturday, May 16th, with the pickleball tournament. We had a small but fierce group of competitors. We played mixed doubles followed by men's and women's doubles followed by singles (back to back to back).

The gold medal winner of men's singles was Cecil Roth. Congrats! He had already played mixed and men's doubles - at least 16 matches on a day that started out wet but became hot. (Already thinking about next year - perhaps playing our tournament over two hald-days to ease the grind.)

Results and photos will be on the website later this week.

If you had no intention of playing pickleball, you haven't missed anything. Everything is still ahead. You could register Monday morning and walk in on shuffleboard Monday at 12:30 at CASI in Davenport.

There are only two more events after shuffleboard this week: cribbage on Friday and the roller/inline skating time trial on Saturday.

The big week is next week.

Everything is on the website: www.qcsogo.org. Come join us! We already have participants from 10 states.
