With heavy hearts we share news of the passing of our committee member, puller and friend, Mark Ruf. Mark was an inaugural member of the Lafayette County Tractor Pull committee and an LCTP Hall of Fame Inductee. There really are no words big enough to describe what Mark meant to the LCTP family. Over the years he always had a seat at the table to help make the Darlington pull the best it could be. He also brought us into deep conversations with the neighboring pullers, knew the best ways to make rules fit many situations and usually made a few last-minute changes that contributed to the registration girls getting grey hair. But that was Mark. Full of laughter and a love for tractor pulling. He kept things interesting and made each pull a little more memorable. Rest easy friend; the pulls won't be the same without you.
Mark Warner Ruf made his last pass down the track of life on Saturday, November 8, 2025, after a long health journey. He was born on Friday, October 20,1961, to John & Nathalie (Hale) Ruf.
