Alicia joined us at our festival every year, and anyone who spent even five minutes with her knows what we mean when we say she brought a light with her. She made Moongroove a warmer place to be, without ever seeming to try.

Alicia (cowgirl) passed away shortly after this year’s festival. We are still absorbing it.

We don’t have the right words. What we have instead is gratitude, that she chose to spend her time with us, that she let us know her, and that so many of us got to be changed a little by having met her. Every person walks a different road, and we are grateful beyond measure that hers crossed ours for these years.

To her family and to everyone who loved her: we’re holding you close. Cowgirl, thank you. You’ll be with us at every moongroove from here on out.

⚠️ Important Air Quality Update

Due to Canadian wildfires, smoke may be visible throughout the festival grounds, and air quality may fluctuate during the event.

If you have asthma, COPD, allergies, or other respiratory or heart conditions, please take extra precautions. Consider bringing and wearing a well-fitting N95 or KN95 mask if you are sensitive to smoke, stay hydrated, and take breaks indoors or in your vehicle if you begin experiencing symptoms.

Please be sure to bring any prescription medications, including rescue inhalers, and keep them with you at all times. If you experience difficulty breathing, chest pain, dizziness, or any other concerning symptoms, seek assistance from our on scene medical team.

We are actively monitoring conditions and will continue to provide updates if anything changes. The safety and well-being of our community remains our top priority.
