Besides being an peace/eco activist, retired special education teacher, yogi, hospitality tent Rock star providing awesome vegan and veg options at the fest! Holly Adams is also my mother! She’ll be teaching yoga at the fest!

Holly Adams has been a student of yoga for 30+ years. She completed her 200 hour yoga teacher certification program through Shakti Yoga Geneseo in 2019. Holly has been actively teaching yoga classes for the past 8 years. She’ll be offering yoga Friday, Saturday and Sunday morning at Folkfaces Fest, 11 am in the circus tent or outside on the grass weather permitting. All are welcome 🙏

Learn to play Singing Saw with Peter Latona

Introduction to the Singing Saw (or “Singing Saw: The Poor Man’s Theremin”)
Workshop Content:
-We’ll talk about what the saw is, how it works, and some examples of how it’s been used.
-There will be a demonstration of how to play the saw and how you can make many saws sing whether designed for music or not.
-You’ll have a chance to try the saw hands on with instructions on techniques to make your saw sing.

Mycology Foray with Sam Warren!

Fresh off of hosting his 4th annual West Almond Stomp! A wonderful Festival! Sam Joins us once again!

Sam Warren is a citizen mycologist and educator from Almond NY. He has spent majority of his life as an avid outdoorsman, pretty much since he could walk he would be out hunting, fishing, foraging, swimming, hiking. Although he foraged for various plants and mushrooms at a young age, his obsession with mycology truly began in 2017. Since then, Sam has delved inside various branches of mycology: indoor and outdoor cultivation, taxonomy, medicinal extractions… you name it. In 2020, Sam got his Wild Mushroom safety certificate and also became a NYSOGA hunting and hiking guide. He now offers guided forays all over NY State and teaches various mycology related workshops around NY State and Pennsylvania. His passion for mushrooms has found him leading forays, hosting workshops, and speaking on panels in various mycology festivals mycology across the northeast. Come get fungal.
