Your Balloons Over Vermilion Co-Chairs Dean F Carlton and Carly Goodwin. 👏👏👏

These two, along with an army of steering committee members, spend hundreds of hours in planning to make magic happen. This 10 year celebration was a labor of love that truly went Above and Beyond.

They take your feedback seriously each year and do whatever they can to make this event safer, more fun and more inclusive.

A big THANK YOU to Dean and Carly for their leadership, love of ballooning and impact on this community!

Alright, friends. This rain is not what we ordered. And we’re sorry to report that the evening Glow and Drone Show have officially been cancelled.

We know that you were looking forward to seeing the balloons in the sky because we were too.

We love Balloons Over Vermilion for all of the fun and excitement it provides our community. But we love it even more because it and Festival of Trees mobilized over $185,000 to programs in Vermilion County for Vermilion County children and families just last year.

Your visit to Balloons and Festival pays for meals, arts and culture, athletic opportunities, mental health services, housing, education and more right here at home!

We hope to see you for Balloons Over Vermilion 2027! Because everything this volunteer led event contributes to the community is FOR THE KIDS.

UPDATE:

The balloons will not glow tonight. We are disappointed with Mother Nature but we’re holding out for the drone show which may still happen.

The b**r tent and food vendors are still open. The Royal Hounds are on the stage!

Come salvage your evening with friends as we see this 10 year celebration through!

🚨 The National Weather Service has advised attendees to return to their vehicles until 8:00pm when the storm is expected to pass.

Determination on the balloon glow and drone show will take place after the storm passes.

We hope you’ll ride out the storm with us!

🤞We are back on track soon!

BALLOON FLIGHT UPDATE: Saturday, June 6

The pilots have just finished their preliminary briefing.

The evening flight is cancelled due to storms in the area.

The pilots are very hopeful the balloon glow will take place later this evening. The wind speed is expected to slow when the storms pass through.

The drone is still on at this time!
