The Finger Lakes Arts Series features some of the finest writers and visual artists in Western New York and beyond. Each month the series, sponsored by the MacFadden Coffee Company and Poets & Writers.
Upcoming Events

Friday, April 24th, 6 p. m.--Bloom and the Blitz
Poet and FLAS host George Guida performs his long poem Bloom and the Blitz. Winner of the 2025 Bright HIll Press Chapbook Award, the poem is a conversation between an aged Leopold Bloom and his caretaker Stephen Dedalus, about the unfolding Blitz of Britain and the ironies of war.
Friday, May 22nd, 6 p. m.--Here on Earth
New York City poet and long-time group home manager Tony Gloeggler will share and
discuss poems from his latest collection Here on Earth (New York Quarterly Press, 2026)
Friday, June 19th, 6 p. m.--North Coast Voices: Poems of the Great Lakes
Poet Chuck Joy and M. Scott Douglass, poet and editor of Main Street Rag Press, will lead a group of poets
sharing poems from the annual anthology North Coast Voices: Poems of the Great Lakes.
Friday, July 24th, 6 p. m.--The Poets of Foothills Publishing
Foothills Publishing founders Michael and Carolyn Czarnecki present a number of poets
sharing work from their recent Foothills books. This reading celebrates the press's 40th year.
Friday, August 7th, 6 p. m.--The Language of Little Girls
Poet and Editor Kate Falvey will share poems from her collection The Language of Little Girls (Wordtech Editions, 2016) and poems from her forthcoming collection.
Friday, August 21st, 6 p. m.--Bone
Poet and memoirist Monique Ferrell will share poems from her new collection, Bone (New York Quarterly Press, 2026), continuing her exploration of womanhood and race in American life and history.
Friday, September 11th, 6 p. m.--Identifying the Pathogen
New Hampshire Poet Laureate and multiple award-winning poet and memoirist
Jennifer Militello will read from her hybrid collection of poems and essays, Identifying the Pathogen (Tupelo Press, 2026), and discuss the power of metaphor and medicine.
Friday, Date TBA, 6 p. m.--Poetry Power Couple
Poets Michael Waters and Mihaela Moscaliuc share poems from their new collections Pagan Sky (Boa Editions, 2026) and Heartmoor (Alice James, 2026), and discuss life as a poetry couple.
