I believe the time has come to share with everyone. With the atmosphere of our Country today, it has put a strain on all of us. It leaves us not knowing what is going to happen next week. Something I was hoping to be a short stint of discomfort, has turned into a more involved PITA.
It is time for Mount Tabor R/C to think of reality and where we will be when we all can gather again. It’s looking like we will be in outdoor season. So I believe the correct way to plan will be outdoor track. Now, this whole atmosphere has killed or should I say, put the last nail in the coffin for Mount Tabor R/C. It’s all a numbers game and I just cannot hold onto the space waiting for a time that has no guarantee. What does that mean? We evolve.
It’s time during the “distancing” to get set up to race outside. Different location/locations. We will pick up where we left of, just outside. Dirt off-road and Dirt oval. I am still working on asphalt road course and drags.
It has been a great year with some great support by our weekly racers. It just wasn’t enough to pay the bills. I supported the track with my own money as long as I could. I REALLY thought Southern Vermont being away from the “other” R/C communities, would do well. Apparently I was wrong. Just over a year, advertising, news paper articles, Social Media ads, pushing and pushing and pushing. It just wasn’t enough. I did the best I could to give kids the opportunity to get involved with something and tried to sponsor kids. I tried to give a zero % trial run to see if it’s something they would like, couldn’t give it away! I built a crawler course with Randy Valentino, thank you Randy! Crawlers being a big thing these days, only to get a handful of people. I realized we needed a new direction.
So what does all this mean? We continue what we were doing when we can leave our houses...haha. Just in another location. Mount Tabor R/C will be renamed and turned into a club. Our club will be for all of us. Not a business, we will all make this happen. We will show S. Vermont has what it takes in the R/C world. THIS IS CHAPTER #2.
I will be releasing all info soon. I’m just finalizing a few things. I want to thank everyone for the support who have and look forward to enjoying future time together. We will still have weekly racing that I have all intentions of being a part of! Haha, I’m ready to have some fun, are you? Let’s get beyond this virus SOON!
