What a wild ride!
As we put our outdoor show season to bed, it’s hard not to look back at the busiest five months we’ve ever had. This season was filled with growth, uncertainty, new adventures, new relationships, fights, stress, travel, but most importantly TRUST & LOVE.
Adding two new shows this year wasn’t even on our radar at this time last year. We had just wrapped up one of our best fall Bazaars and were looking forward to spending some time with the kids.
Then Devon got a call from Mystic Seaport Museum in CT. They wanted to add a Bazaar to their summer programming. After a quick conversation between us, the answer was an obvious yes. What a tribute to all of Devon’s hard work, professionalism and dedication to Vintage Bazaar New England. So on the calendar went Mystic!
Fast forward three months and the phone rings again. This time it was Ragged Mountain Resort in NH. Their new ownership group (who is amazing) was looking for summer programming and thought a Bazaar might be a good fit. It wasn’t, so we pitched them Kinfolk Music Festival instead. A few serious conversations at home later, that went on the calendar too.
Add in a new June Bazaar venue at the Topsfield Fairgrounds, along with our April, October and December shows, and we were starting to feel it.
But it’s times like these that remind you why it’s worth it. The headaches, sleepless nights, watching the weather like your life depends on it (because it does), and knowing through all of it you have your ride or die right next to you.
Now that fall is here and we have one show remaining, we’re finally starting to let our guard down. Enjoying this beautiful weather and spending some much needed time with family and friends.
To say this season was anything short of spectacular would be an understatement. For everything that went wrong, even more went right. We put ourselves and our family through the wringer this year, only to turn around and do it all again next year. And I wouldn’t trade any of it for the world.
