This October, artists from around the country will come together for the very first circus festival of its kind - Southern Fried Circus Fest! Located in Dallas, Texas, SFCF is a multi-disciplinary festival featuring workshops and classes led by world-renowned artists. In addition, SFCF will serve as an act development showcase for aerialists around the country to perform an act in a non-competitive setting and receive feedback from expert aerialists! This showcase accepts performers of all levels from amateur to professional. You will receive constructive comments ranging from character development, showmanship, technicality, originality & more. This is an excellent chance to develop yourself and your act. The festival itself will be held October 1-6, 2016. The festival will be kicked off by the Act Development Showcase, followed by a variety of classes and workshops. For those interested in performing at the showcase, video submissions of your act will be due by July 5th, 2016. Performers will receive feedback based on the submitted video in addition to feedback from a panel of professional aerialists at the Showcase itself. Submissions will be accepted for silks, lyra, trapeze, hammock, cyr, straps, corde lisse, adagio & more. Solo, duo, and group acts welcome. We look forward to flying with everyone in October!!
