We’re proud to announce Dallas chef Matt Ford as the recipient of the first Chad Hauser Catalyst Award, which honors hospitality professionals who make an impact in the culinary community.

From pursuing his culinary education and working with James Beard Award-winning chef mentors, to his work locally with Youth With Faces, and through leadership roles in Dallas kitchens, Chef Ford’s journey is marked by a deep-rooted commitment to the craft.

With his leadership, creativity, and dedication to uplifting others, Chef Ford embodies what this award represents—using food as a catalyst for connection, transformation, and purpose. At his restaurant, Billy Can Can, he combines classic Texan flavors in a rustic saloon setting with locally-sourced ingredients, all while leading from a place of purpose and community.

As part of the Chefs For Farmers mission to support the culinary community, this award comes with a $5,000 grant for chef Ford to continue his work enriching the local hospitality scene.
