SADDEST POST TO DATE:

As hard as this season has been, life continues to move on. Recently, I was given the incredible opportunity to purchase my family’s farm, the very place where it all began with The Barn at Timber Creek, the place where my kids and I reside….its home ❤️

“They say when one door closes, another one opens” and Northfield will forever hold a special place in my heart. I’ve poured so much of myself into this property and always dreamed of seeing it become something truly special but life has a way of throwing kinks into your plans and we’ll never understand!

For those who knew my dad, you’ll understand why this opportunity means so much to me. Turning down the chance to bring my family’s farm back to life after he passed away, just isn’t something I could do. I’ve wrestled with this decision for months, and I still don’t know if I’m making the right decision but I want to continue his legacy for as long as I can.

If you’ve reached out and haven’t heard back, please know I’m so sorry…it’s been a lot to process and comprehend.

With that being said, Northfield Estate is officially for sale, and I will no longer be booking future events. I will, of course, honor all existing weddings and ensure every couple’s day is as beautiful as originally promised.

This hasn’t been an easy decision by any means, but I’m trusting that the next person to call this place home will love it as much as I have. ❤️

Funny how life can change in an instant…

For those of you I haven’t met yet..Hey! My name is Whitney and my husband and I are the owners of Northfield Estate.

When Northfield became available 6 years ago, it was honestly just a dream and now here we are! We have been blessed beyond measures and I’m so thankful for every opportunity!

A couple quick facts about me…

-I have 3 amazing boys who are my entire world
-I was thrown into the wedding industry 10 years ago and don’t regret a moment of it. It’s definitely been a learning curve but I’ve met some of the most amazing people in this industry!
-I am a horse/dog lover through and through

Never once did I imagine myself as the “face” of Northfield Estate but when one door closes another one opens. After 10 years, we decided to close our sister venue (The Barn at Timber Creek - don’t worry it’s going to be such a good thing for our family and we have some exciting plans for the barn) and I am now full time at Northfield and I CANNOT wait to meet all of our future brides and grooms ❤️

Northfield is a romantic and ornate home that was built in the 1820’s and rebuilt in 1977. Recently under new ownership, this stately mansion is once again being restored in 2020 to a gloriously new venue for weddings and events. This estate offers a stunning landscape with endless options for events just outside of the city, away from the hustle and bustle. Located in Cumberland, VA, Northfield Estate is just a mere 15 minutes from Powhatan, VA and only 50 minutes from Richmond, VA.

The 9300 square foot main house captivates you immediately upon entrance. With a noble two story center foyer spanning from the grand front to the rear, your eyes focus to an opulent turned staircase. The setting is exquisitely picturesque and versatile for both enchanting events and classic-casual events. Boosting a beautiful indoor ballroom and 49 acres of land, your guest list can truly be unlimited for outdoor ceremony and event options.
