Love getting in the mail with the sweetest calf on the cover ❤️ Elk Ravine Farm as the perfect reset. 🌿 Something so grounding about smelling the earth again and connecting with these animals after a dark season. For the moment the gray world finally starts turning toward a spring bloom. Jim Archer shares so beautifully how nature heals both landscapes and people. In Beacon, we found the perfect gift for our Nena, mother/grandmother’s birthday. As a lifelong art teacher, photographic artist and then an alternative method photography professor at NYU, she has seen it all, but there was something uniquely magical about the tintype process. Watching an image come to life on a metal plate—slowing down to let the silver and light do their work—was a rare moment where we truly got to stop time together.
Thank you to Oren Cohen for walking us through this wonderful experience. It was a gift of stepping back, stopping time, history, and a memory we can hold in our hands.
