Founded in 2003, and running through 2005, the first incarnation of the Cosmic Coffeehouse was a unique series of concerts intended to showcase musical artists who tended to play outside of the box... people whose music wasn't mainstream enough for the rock clubs, and was too out of place for the singer/songwriter "regular" coffeehouse venues as well. The goal of the Cosmic Coffeehouse was to find
a home to showcase the talents of these "musical misfits." Organized and hosted by Ken Palmer, the shows featured multimedia projections, unique lighting effects, and an underground club atmosphere. Tables and chairs provided casual seating, and coffee and snacks were served, providing a relaxing atmosphere for these primarily electronic and ambient musicians to present their unique music. Unfortunately, a change of job locale left Ken little time to devote to the series. He reluctantly was forced to abandon the series, but hoped that someday he could revive it again. After a brief revival in 2013, the CC is back on indefinite hiatus, but we're keeping hope alive that it will return someday!
