State Fair Livestock Update!

Important Livestock Updates
If you are planning on exhibiting livestock or horses at the State Fair, please go to their livestock competitive events page and follow the directions to make entries. Entries must be completed online by July 15, 2025 (Horse entries are due by July 1, 2025). Extension staff will approve entries after that date to confirm 4-H membership. You will not need to have anything physically signed.

Starting this year, all cattle and swine exhibited at an Illinois county fair will be required to have an electronic 840 tag. For more information, please refer to the Illinois Department of Ag factsheet.

Livestock ownership deadlines for the State Fair are now available! Please note that your county shows may have different ownership and birth deadlines, so be sure to refer to the county livestock show guide.

Both County and State Fair health requirements and exhibition health tips are now available on the Illinois Department of Agriculture website.
