FCVMA & HG Forest County Veterans Memorial Association & Honor Guard

In preparation for Crandon's 2019 Memorial Day services, students from Crandon High School, along with Master Garden Volunteers, spent time Thursday and Friday afternoon weeding, raking, planting, pruning, mulching and painting the Veterans Memorial on the Forest County Courthouse Square.

The project, a collaboration between Tressa Votis' annual AP Psychology service learning project and Forest County's Master Gardener program, allowed the students to give back to their community while spending time outside of the classroom learning landscaping techniques and a bit of local history.

Crandon's Memorial Day celebration begins with a parade Monday, May 27th at 9:30 a.m. followed by a program at the Veterans Memorial. The speaker for the program is Warren Dorau.

Happy 4th of July! Remember to remove your hat, or if you're a Veteran or active duty to Salute as the US Flag passes during the parades this weekend! Wishing you a safe and fun Holiday weekend! Don't forget to go to City Hall to support our Crandon Fire Department in their Fundraising Events! They provide the Fireworks we enjoy every 4th of July!
