**The “Mighty Moo” in Action** 🇺🇸✈️
In early 1944, F6F Hellcats warmed up on the flight deck of the **USS Cowpens** as the light carrier prepared for another mission in the Pacific.
From 1943 through the end of World War II, the **Cowpens** took part in nearly every major carrier battle in the Pacific Theater. Her relentless service earned her **12 battle stars** more than any other **Independence-class light carrier**.

The **USS Cowpens**, proudly nicknamed the **“Mighty Moo,”** played a vital role in countless operations and made a lasting contribution to the Allied victory in the Pacific.

🛺9:30 a.m. - CHILDREN'S PARADE: All children (under 12) are invited to ride on their bicycles or be pulled along in a wagon, tricycles, strollers, as part of a
"walking parade"! 👫Children get your moms and dads to help you decorate your unit in red, white, and blue to honor our veterans. The lineup begins at Greenway Drive at 8:45 a.m.
🌺ATTENTION PARENTS: 🌺Please be on Foster Street to pick up your child immediately after this event.
