Meet the Owner (aka the CIF....Chief Idea Fairy) 👋

Hi. I’m Heather — the person behind Maeve’s Place… and also the person who will do almost anything to avoid being in front of a camera. 😅

I’m originally a Yankee transplant from a farm in Upstate New York & then Massachusetts who somehow ended up building a tiny venue for big memories down here on the Northshore. Life’s weird like that.

Before this, my career was in Power Industry and Emergency Management and Disaster Response, and Border Operations — meaning for years I lived in the land of logistics, generators, hurricanes, spreadsheets, rapid deployment, organized chaos, and “well… this escalated quickly.”

Somewhere along the way I also:
• bartended
• became a very accidental rookie florist
• learned how to build experiences out of random ideas and sheer determination
• and discovered I genuinely love creating spaces where people connect

Truthfully, Maeve’s Place was born from wanting more real (affordable!) moments in a world that feels increasingly disconnected and rushed. I wanted a place where people could celebrate, laugh, gather, solve mysteries, dance badly, host something beautiful, or just make memories they actually remember a year later.

And for the record… there is no actual Maeve. 😂
People ask that all the time.

There is, however, a Heather MAE… so technically I just got fancy with it and added a few letters like I was rebranding a boutique candle company.

So while you’ll probably almost never see me in the photos…
I absolutely love helping create the moments that end up in yours.

Also yes, I still own more steel toed boots and polos than any reasonable lady should. 🧚‍♀️

So this week I’ve been engaging with a client who’s getting married in October 2027.

When she initially reached out, she made sure to mention that they’re unconventional, and wanted something a bit different.

What she didn’t realize is, she had said the magic words. I LOVE something unique. I love something imaginative. Gothic/Halloween/romantic/murder mystery wedding vibe - I mean, how cool is that??

Because what I’ve come to realize is, I’m not a venue owner. I’m an experience provider.

And while someone is welcome to simply rent the space and build their own vision through decorations, etc., for those that are short on time, a bit overwhelmed, or not sure how they want to create the vision and ask me to do it, I’m as giddy as a school kid. 

So if you want to do a celebration of sorts, whether it’s wedding related, baby related, kid related, or adult celebration like birthdays, anniversaries, etc. And you just wanna show up and have fun, reach out.

And if your idea of celebrating is to do it your way, fly a freak flag if need be, then you’re definitely my people. Conservative is elegant, wild and crazy is fun. 🤩

Did I mention she’s doing a taco bar and a Ramen bar for the wedding reception because those are the bride and groom’s favorites? My kind of people!! 🌮 🖤 🍜
