Another successful Covington Days Festival is in the books!

C’mon down! We have the Watermelon Eating Contest at 1 p.m. - entry is free and all ages, and we have FREE ice cream bars/popsicles with city council at 1:30 p.m. next to the city booth. Today, Sunday, July 20, is the last day of the festival and we will be here until 6 p.m.! Located near Kohl’s at 169th and SE 270th.

Day one of fun has ended, but day two (Sunday, July 20) promises to be just as awesome, featuring the Watermelon Eating Contest at 1 p.m. and Free Ice Cream/Popsicles with your City Council at 1:30 p.m. Not to mention 100+ vendors including yummy food (and the Scone Wagon on Sunday only!), the Kids Zone with inflatables and face painting, the petting zoo, and more! Heads up: Road closures for the parade begin at 9:30 a.m. and last until about 11:30 a.m. (usually done sooner) this morning, Saturday, July 19.

Reminder: The Covington Days Festival parade begins at 10 a.m. this morning Saturday, July 19. Road closures begin at 9:30 a.m. and include 180th Ave SE from SE 262nd to SE 272nd and westbound 272nd (Kent Kangley) from 180th Ave SE to 168th Pl. SE. The closure will last until the end of the parade, usually around 11:30 a.m., possibly sooner.

The parade judges and announcer are located on 272nd/Kent Kangley near Panda Express, which makes a great location to hang out and watch!

Patients and staff can access the MultiCare facility at all times via the south entrance on SE 272nd. If driving eastbound (coming from Kent or Highway 18), pass through the intersection at 180th Ave SE/Wax Rd. and utilize the u-turn lane to change direction to westbound and enter the MultiCare parking lot immediately on the right.

Check out the Covington Days Festival schedule to plan your visit! On Saturday you can catch the parade, hit up the petting zoo and see the Reptile Man while catching some cool times by our live bands in between. Sunday you can shop the vendors, join in (or just watch) the watermelon eating contest, snag a free popsicle/ice cream bar and watch a live band, too! Heck, might as well come both days as it’s always free admission to the festival!
