"Barely a dry eye in the house this morning as the Dr. Tim Burlingame award was introduced as a quarterly award at Sonrise. Mrs. Walulik shared who Tim was and what he meant to our school, about his integrity, work ethic, passion for Sonrise and passion for Christ. One student per class was given the award. What a wonderful day honoring and remembering an amazing man who has touched so many lives. Did anyone else get goosebumps when all the Sonrise students stood up at the end of the service? :)

Tomorrow is the memorial service for Dr. Burlingame. It's at 11:00am at the Covina Assembly of God. We hope to see you all there to honor the man we all love and miss so much!

This Monday is the memorial service for Dr. Burlingame. It's at the Covina Assembly of God at 11:00am. Please wear bright and colorful colors! In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Dr. Burlingame's name to the student scholarship program at Sonrise. We hope to see you all there to honor the man we all love so much!

Friends! A reminder that the Memorial Service for Dr. Burlingame is NEXT Monday, February 21st at 11:00am. Childcare will not be provided. The family has asked us to wear BRIGHT colors and no black as we remember and honor the man we all love so much! :)

To our Sonrise Friends and Family, a Memorial Service for Dr. Burlingame has been planned for Monday, February 21, 2011 at 11am at the Covina Assembly of God.

Plans for a memorial for Dr. Burlingame are taking place. His family requests that a memorial down here in So. Cal take place in the new year (Jan or Feb 2011). We will continue to post information and update you all about his memorial service here as we receive news. The family has also asked that in lieu of flowers, donations be sent in Dr. Burlingame's name to Sonrise for tuition assistance.

We don't think it's a coincidence that this is Sonrise's chapel theme verse for this year. Dr. Burlingame was a great example of living out this verse each day. As he would often say..." Go be Jesus to someone today. We might be the only example of Jesus someone has in their life."

It was an emotion-filled day today at Sonrise beginning with special worship at flag salute, an incredible and honoring fly-over, Friday chapel with a timely message of "Jesus Saves" and a successful and fun Harvest Festival! Today was for you Tim Burlingame!!! Always in our hearts...we love you!
