Today's series finale featured a super cool first pitch by Series alumni Tanner and Austin Hamilton of North Salem. They threw strikes to Jackson Hertel and Logan Nakamura of Ridgeview HS. The Hamilton's - Austin, Cole and Tanner - are the only trio of brothers to have played in the Richardson Oregon All-Star Series since the Series relocated to Corvallis in 2011. In a first, a Series game was decided by a HR Derby. The North and South were tied after 9 innings, 1-1. Pitching ruled the opener with the South's starter Alex Via of Summit tossing 3 scoreless with 5 strikeouts and North righty Max Bishop of La Salle twirling three scoreless innings of relief. But a rainy day ended with a happy North squad thanks to Gabriel Coltman's walk-off HR Derby homer. So, game one goes to the North. Game two is tomorrow at 11 am and the weather should be perfect for baseball.
