🐝 Welcome to the Michigan Honey Festival! 🍯
We’re all about bees, honey, & community—bringing people together to learn, taste, explore, & celebrate all things sweet and buzzy! Not only are the honeybees in peril, so are all our pollinators. Yet, with all the talk about pesticides, additives, global warming, etc. there are things that you and I can do to help our insects to survive. We will keep expanding our resources and help to educate the public on these newest measures that can be done with very little investment or land.

🍯 National Honey Month is a sweet reminder of everything that goes into every jar of honey.

Honey starts with flowers, and every jar can have its own unique flavor depending on the flowers the bees visit. Behind it all is the year-round dedication of beekeepers who care for their hives and the bees that make it possible.

This September, we’re celebrating the flowers, the bees and the beekeepers behind the honey we love.

🍯👩‍🍳 Happy National Kids Take Over the Kitchen Day! 🐝

Today is the perfect day to let the little ones take over the kitchen and get creative! Whether they’re making pancakes, cookies, toast, fruit, or their own creation, try adding a little local honey for some extra sweetness. 🍯

While they’re in the kitchen, it’s also a great opportunity to teach them where that honey comes from! Honey bees are amazing pollinators that visit flowers to collect nectar and pollen, helping plants grow along the way. 🌻🐝

So let the kids get cooking, grab the honey jar, and take a moment to appreciate the incredible pollinators that help make it all possible!

Did you know honey bees need to collect about 10 pounds of nectar to produce just 1 pound of honey?

That’s a whole lot of trips from flower to flower! 🌼🐝 Each drop of honey represents the incredible amount of work that goes into collecting nectar, bringing it back to the hive, and turning it into the sweet honey we know and love.

The next time you enjoy a spoonful of honey, remember just how much work went into making it! 🍯💛

We remember the families who continue to carry the loss and the communities that came together in the face of tragedy.

We’re taking a look back at one of the wonderful vendors who joined us at the 2026 Michigan Honey Festival!

Exploring Seasons creates engaging, play-based sensory activity kits designed to spark curiosity, creativity, and learning in children. Their kits give little explorers opportunities to learn through hands-on play and imaginative activities.

We loved having them be part of the festival and bringing their creativity and activities to our community!

When we celebrate honey, we’re also celebrating the people who care for the hives behind every jar.

Beekeeping takes time, patience, knowledge, and dedication. Beekeepers work throughout the year to care for their colonies, monitor hive health, and help their bees thrive.

This National Honey Month, we’re giving a sweet thank you to the beekeepers who dedicate their time to these incredible pollinators and help bring local honey to our tables.

🇺🇸🐝 Happy Labor Day from the Michigan Honey Festival! 🍯

Today, we’re celebrating the hardworking people who keep our communities, farms, businesses, and hives buzzing.

From beekeepers caring for their colonies to farmers growing our food, volunteers giving their time, and local businesses serving our communities, there are so many people whose hard work makes a difference every day.

This Labor Day, we’re grateful for everyone who puts in the work to make our communities stronger. 💛

Take a well-deserved break, enjoy the long weekend, and remember to support the hardworking people in your community!

Did you know a queen bee can live up to five years? 👑🐝

While worker bees typically live for just a few weeks during the busy summer months, the queen has a much longer life and plays a vital role in the hive.

She spends her days laying eggs and helping maintain the colony’s population, making her one very important bee! 🍯
