Governor's Cup - Balboa Yacht Club The 59th Annual Governor's Cup Challenge will be held from Monday, July 27 through Saturday, August 1, 2026.

The Governor’s Cup Selection Committee will select twelve skippers from sailors who will not have reached their 23rd birthday by July 30, 2022 and who submit a Request for Invitation (“RFI”) by Friday, April 8, 2022. Decisions of the Selection Committee will be announced no later than Friday, April 22, 2022. Crews will consist of three or four sailors whose combined weight cannot exceed 262.5 kg/587 lbs. Request for invitation for the 55th Annual Governor's Cup Internationals Junior Match Racing Championship will be posted at www.govcupracing.com or by emailing a request to [email protected] closer to the 2022 event date. The Gov Cup is part of a clear pathway from an introductory clinic to regional regattas, national and international youth events called the Rose Cup, then Governor’s Cup, the intercollegiate match racing program culminating in the ICSA National Match Racing Championship.

Welcome back to BYC’s Governor’s Cup. Please check out this week’s LIVE STREAMING SCHEDULE. Starting with - this evening… we will be live streaming the GovCup Welcome Dinner. Andy Rose will be introducing & interviewing each team, so tune in at 8:00pm (20:00) PDT. The Morning Shows on race days are hosted by the effervescent Tom Ehman. On Friday and Saturday, be sure not to miss our on-the-water GovCup media team LIVE STREAMING from the Pacific Ocean 🌊 right off our coast to watch play by play action coverage hosted by Andy Rose, Tom Ehman and some surprise guests! Additionally, there will be a Presser with the top four teams on Friday evening and the Trophy Presentation on Saturday will be live streamed usually around 5:00PM (17:00) PDT depending on when the last race is finished. The main attraction, of course, are the sailors/teams coming from all around the world! We can’t wait! ⚓️
