The cast is working long hours on preparing their lines and choreography! The backstage crew is working just as many hours behind the scenes as those on the stage! There's been much work: creating house siding, painting, creating a science lab, designing a kitchen, creating birthday cakes, finding props, making costumes, aiming lights, programming lights, finding sound effects....it's gonna be a great Big One Oh! birthday celebration!

Why were Opera Houses built? Opera Houses were created from about 1880 to 1910 as community gathering places! There are 3 types of opera houses: Opera Hall (with no stage and smaller), Opera Houses with stages and usually balconies, and Grand Opera Houses with private booths!

Why are there small windows at the top of the building? Theaters were darkened for live entertainment so small windows let in less light. Traveling troubadours would look for the small windows to be able to identify the place they would be performing.

Did You Know that fire station and city hall were built behind the opera house at the same time? Notice the bricks are the same! During the restoration years 2010 to 12 Gary Harter purchased the 2nd floor or city hall and later sold it to the opera house for dressing rooms!
