If you can believe it, it's that time of year again when we begin accepting proposal submissions for the 2026 Cooperstown Symposium on Baseball and American Culture!

Proposals for papers are invited from all disciplines and on all topics. Papers on baseball as baseball on the field are not encouraged. Submission is by abstract (be sure to include complete contact information). Abstracts should be narrative, limited to one type-written page. All presentations should be designed to fit into a 20-minute panel segment. The deadline for submission is December 31, 2025. Proposals can be sent via mail or email to this address:

Now that you've all had time to recover from the fun that was had at the 2025 Cooperstown Symposium, we hope you'll join the wonderful folks at NINE for the 4th annual 9-Online Virtual Baseball Conference! They are still accepting proposals, due July 31st, with the conference occurring on September 4th and 5th. Hope to see you there - virtually!

The 4th Annual 9-Online Virtual Baseball Conference (September 4-5, 2025) invites original unpublished papers that study all aspects of baseball, with particular emphasis on history, literature, and social policy implications. And just like that, the 36th edition of the Cooperstown Symposium on Baseball and American Culture is over. Thanks to all that joined us! Save the date for next year: May 27 - 29, 2026. We hope to see you there!

The 36th Cooperstown Symposium on Baseball and American Culture brought Joe Posnanski and other baseball luminaries to the Hall of Fame this week.

As 2023 ends, we want to remind everyone that submissions for the 2024 Cooperstown Symposium on Baseball and American Culture are now OPEN and are due by Sunday, December 31, 2023.
