October 17 is National Gnocchi Day, and we’re celebrating one of Italy’s most beloved comfort foods at Palmucci’s Pasta!

Gnocchi has been part of Italian cooking for centuries. Before potatoes became popular in Europe, early versions were made with ingredients like flour, breadcrumbs, and cheese. Eventually, potatoes became the foundation for the tender little dumplings we know and love today.
In Rome, the tradition of “Giovedì gnocchi” — Thursday is gnocchi day — celebrates the simple pleasure of gathering around a hearty, comforting meal.
And that’s what Italian food has always been about: good food, good company, and making time to enjoy both. ❤️
