Central Arkansas Open

Sad to report that the Central Arkansas Open has run its course and 2024 will be its last year. What a great 5 year run we had. Thank you to the hundreds of volunteers,including the tournament committee, our sponsors, people who hosted players and countless others. We end on a high note and have had the opportunity to see the Women’s All Pro Tour grow and expand its scope and impact on young ladies and the game of golf.

The decision was a difficult one but the committee voted 100% not to continue and we are sure this was the right decision. Cherish the memories and lifelong friendships made with the players.

Again, thanks!!

I sure am glad our tournament started a week ago today, and not today!! Here’s the view from the back porch at 6am and 7:30am today.

I like to believe planning and ex*****on is everything, but luck plays a major part in life for sure.

Feeling lucky as I enjoy the sound of the thunder and rain, and reflect on our tournament here last week.

Yeji Kwon wins her first professional golf tournament at the age of 18 right here in Conway. What a wonderful and exciting week and we’ve probably witnessed another player in the way to the top of the LPGA. Yeji is from British Columbia, Canada. What a great week.

It’s a hot, umbrella day for the final round. Leader is through 10 at -10.

The last day of the tournament is finally here and the weather is beautiful so come out and enjoy the fight to the finish. The final group will tee off at 8:47 and feature Jacqueline Lucena from Florida at -7 and the two leaders, Worapitcha Anudit from Thailand and Yeji Kwon from British Columbia, Canada at -8. If it is anything like years past, it will be an exciting finish with ones at the top holding on and the others within striking distance making their final move.

Admission is FREE. The first tee time is at 7:30. See you there.

What an exciting day with the leader at -6 and 20 players under par.

I’m sitting out here on my back porch behind the number 9 teebox this morning and the amount of mowing, blowing, raking, cutting and all the other activity happening to get this course ready for day two of the Central Arkansas open is so impressive. Jason Miller, the course superintendent, is doing an amazing job hosting a professional women’s golf tournament here at Centennial Valley Country Club. The weather is cool and the leader is at -6 after day one. 20 players shot under par yesterday. Geez, these girls can play. Come out and enjoy some golf. it’s free.
