Plus -- amazing treats in Act One Ice Cream Parlor, awesome art in Act One Art Gallery, and wine and beer at Freddie’s Bar! The historic Concrete Theatre was built in 1923 - it's the oldest theatre in Skagit County. In the 1920s it was the scene of silent movies, then later the first talkies. Other forms of entertainment also were featured, even boxing matches and church services. In 2009, Valerie

Stafford and Fred West purchased the theatre, and after some major refurbishing and upgrading, reopened it on February 12, 2010. MOVIES & EVENTS
The Concrete Theatre shows movies every weekend, and occasionally at other times, as well. Live performances, concerts and other entertainment are also offered. FITNESS CLASSES
The building is also the home of Encore Fitness, offering group fitness classes

Workshop: It Ends With Us
Wednesday, June 10 at 5:00 p.m.
Guest Speaker: Greg Wright
Admission: regular movie prices

Loved the book? Questioned the movie? Heard about the controversy and wondered what really happened? This workshop looks at "It Ends With Us" from every angle: page to screen, romance to warning signs, Hollywood marketing to public backlash, and the legal battle that kept the conversation going.

Greg Wright is an author, publisher and movie scholar from Winthrop. He's looking forward to discussing the movie (based on the best-selling novel by Colleen Hoover), unpacking why it became so controversial, and what lessons communities can take from it.
