Fly to get your tickets to our next Sandbox Series production, Abuela! 👵 Opening in just two weeks as a wrap up to Hispanic Heritage month, Abuela is an interactive exploration of the popular picture book by Arthur Dorros.

This adventure will be presented in English with some Spanish sprinkled in. Think of everyone's favorite Hispanic explorer and her monkey friend 😉

Do you know what is involved in a Battle of the Books? 📚 Often led by a coach or advisor (such as a librarian), this competition incentivizes reading through a game show-style tournament with local, regional, and state levels.

Teams are given a list of books specifically designed for their age range to read in preparation for the competition. ⚔️ The team that correctly answers the most questions then moves on to the next level!

In our production of Battle of the Books, this entire concept is put into jeopardy when outside forces begin to question the list of award-winning books. To see it all unfold, get tickets to see Battle of the Books this weekend or either of the next two weekends!

We are officially on to the second week of Battle of the Books! 📚 Did you know that SMJ incorporates elements of magical realism into this show?

Magical realism is an element of writing and storytelling where the author seamlessly mixes magical acts and events into everyday, realistic life. ✨️ In the case of Battle of the Books, the dream sequences and physical manifestations are used to expand on the struggles dealt with by the characters and provide audiences with a look into the character's minds.

We're unveiling the secrets of Battle of the Books! Have you ever wanted to catch a CCT show, but haven't had the chance? Tonight is your opportunity!

We're offering 50 pairs of FREE tickets to see Battle of the Books for tonight's 7 PM show for anyone who has never seen a production with us before! The show will include a Q&A with writer and director SMJ immediately following the show.
